Abuletic

- AbúléYorubavillage
- -ticdepth; the original
Rooted and original: African from the village up.

Language reflects culture. Culture reflects the people.
Abuletic exists because African languages, music and traditions are slipping out of daily life, at home and abroad. We use what people already love, music, dance, drama and story, to bring them back into the heart of their culture, and to make them proud of it.
It began as the Abuletic Tour in Nigeria in 2021: an African contemporary concert of chant, talking drums, dance, folk tales, poetry and drama, mixed with modern sound. Today Abuletic performs, teaches and tells stories in Nigeria and across the United Kingdom.
What we set out to do
Preserve
Keep African languages, music and traditions alive, and teach them to the next generation.
Promote
Bring the culture to new audiences, on stages, in schools and in communities.
Unite
Bring people of every background together through rhythm, story and celebration.
Renew
Show the old culture with modern energy, so it feels like it belongs to today.
